After Hours | Midnight Son

Wrap up your First Friday experience at Momentum Studios for After Hours, featuring incredible visual and performance artists based in Anchorage.

Midnight Son (formerly Ed Washington) is a genre-defying artist and producer from Anchorage, Alaska, known for his soulful vocals, bold originality, and genre-blending sound. With a BA in Music and a foundation in classical voice from UAA, he’s earned multiple Alaska Hip Hop & R&B Awards, a legislative citation, and recognition as a key creative force in his hometown.

A multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, he’s collaborated with Medium Build on tracks like Good At Being Lonely, Rabbit, and Especially Me, and co-wrote Evelene on Quinn Christopherson’s acclaimed debut. Since his 2018 debut, Midnight Son has released three solo projects, including Hedonism (2022), which earned him Best Singer-Songwriter, Best R&B Artist, and Best Hip-Hop Artist in the Anchorage Press Picks. His new album, Cynisism just released in 2025.

Momentum Studio Gallery will also feature artist Kala Jenkins. Doors open at 7pm, arrive early to experience the new exhibit before the music begins.

About After Hours

Join us Friday nights to discover new visual artworks in our gallery and a featured live performance in our studio. It’s a relaxed, come-as-you-are space where you can experience a diverse array of some of Anchorage’s best artists - good vibes, great art, all up close and personal.

Gallery openings begin at 7pm and are free and are followed by the feature performance at 7:30 pm that is ticketed.
