We are BACK for 2022! It's After Hours time, let's celebrate. All visitors age 12 or older must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test from within 72 hours to attend an event or program at the Speed, including Speed Cinema Screenings. Proof of vaccination is not currently required for general admission to the Museum or its exhibitions.

5 – 7 pm | Art-making for all ages: Make your own set of binoculars for exploring in the galleries!
5 – 10 pm | An orienteering self-guided tour through the permanent collection
6 pm | Screening of Belle in the Speed Cinema. ticketed separately
6 pm | A presentation from artist Roberto Vasani regarding The Promise, with an introduction from the Speed’s Community Engagement Strategist Toya Northington
6:30pm | "Meet the Curator" tour of Leight glass collection and "Wolfgang Buttress: Blossom" with Scott Erbes.
7 – 8 pm | Community Connections Artist-in-Residence Shauntrice Martin will be in the Cinema Lobby to talk with guests about her exhibition, Something in the Water
8 – 9 pm | Enjoy a bluegrass trio performance from Louisville Folk School in the Kentucky Gallery
8:30 pm | Trains, Muscles, & Country Guitars in the Speed Cinema: Local 16mm film collector Ryan Daly shares some treasures from his collection including a short Claymation music film, an early 1970s Johnny Cash documentary, a short with Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe, and bodybuilders on the beach in the late 1940s—a welcome respite from the chilly winter. Running time: 67 minutes.
8:30 – 9:30 pm | Music performance from Frankie Leo in the Grand Hall
Every third Friday, the Museum will once again be open until 10 pm. Each After Hours event comes alive with an eclectic mix of music, performances, cash bar + food available by Wiltshire at the Speed, and of course art! Come experience the Speed after hours like you’ve never experienced it before.
