It can be practiced in an intimate setting, but also as a form of physical practice which can be soothing and relaxing for both the person tying (top) and the partner who is being tied (bottom). This workshop is aimed at anyone looking to get started with shibari (also known as kinbaku).
Starting from the most fundamental components, this course requires no previous experience or knowledge. This workshop will provide you the skills necessary to have fun practicing Shibari safely and pursue further learning.
With a focus on connecting with your partner and enjoying the process, we will cover the following aspects:
1. Safety, communication and consent
2. Rope selection and care
3. Foundation ties and their application
4. Intention and dynamic
5. Demonstration and practice
The demonstration and practice include a simple chest harness and arm binding tie, which can be performed either standing or sitting on the ground; you will be able to practice all the hands-on components of this course.
