Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto -tapahtuma tulee jälleen heinäkuussa 2026! On erityistä syytä juhlaan, kun vietämme Afrojazz Clubin 10-vuotis juhlavuotta!
Tämä koko perheelle suunnattu kesäpäivä kutsuu sinut nauttimaan musiikista, rytmeistä, leppoisasta tunnelmasta ja juhlistamaan kulttuuria sekä mukavaan yhdessäoloon keskellä Helsingin kauneinta puistoa.
Luvassa on ainutlaatuinen kattaus musiikkia ja esityksiä, jotka ammentavat inspiraatiota afrikkalaisista juurista ja afrodiasporan rikkaasta kulttuuriperinnöstä. Lavalla nähdään sekä tuttuja yleisön suosikkeja että uusia nousevia tähtiä. Ohjelmisto liikkuu afrojazzin, afropopin, afrobeatin ja muiden mukaansatempaavien rytmien sykkeessä.
Päivän aikana puisto täyttyy myös koko perheille suunnatuista työpajoista, musiikista ja tanssista, kohtaamisista ja iloisesta tekemisestä kaikenikäisille. Alueelta löydät myös herkullista ruokaa sekä värikkään basaarin, jossa paikalliset tekijät esittelevät tuotteitaan ja osaamistaan.
Tapahtuma on maksuton, esteetön ja avoin kaikille.
Tapahtuman järjestää Kulttuurikameleontit ry.

Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto event returns in July 2026! This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Afrojazz Club!
This family-friendly summer day invites you to enjoy music, rhythms, culture and togetherness in one of Helsinki’s most beautiful parks.
The event features a unique lineup of music and performances inspired by African roots and the rich cultural heritage of the African diaspora. On stage, you’ll see both beloved audience favourites and exciting new talents. The program flows through afrojazz, afropop, afrobeat and other compelling vibrant rhythms.
Throughout the day, the park will come alive with interactive workshops, music and dance, encounters and joyful activities for all ages. You can also enjoy delicious food and explore a colorful bazaar where local creators showcase their products and skills.
The event is free of charge, accessible and open to everyone.

TAPAHTUMASTA / ABOUT THE EVENT:
Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto -tapahtuma on järjestetty vuodesta 2018 osana Alppipuiston Kesän tapahtumasarjaa. Tapahtuman vastaava tuottaja on Kulttuurikameleontit ry. Tänä vuonna on juhlavuosi, kun juhlistamme yhdessä jo 10-vuotista Afrojazz Clubia!
Afrojazz Clubeja on järjestetty Helsingissä vuodesta 2016 lähtien Korjaamolla, Kumpulan kylätilassa, Storyvillessä, Kansallisteatterin Lavaklubilla, Tampereen Klubilla ja Porvoon kulttuuritalo Grandissa. Afrojazz Clubin house band, Afrojazz Quintet, on keikkaillut edellisten lisäksi mm. Maailma Kylässä -festivaaleilla, Bizarressa Salossa, Helsingin kulttuurikeskuksissa ja Svenska Teaterinin Who Belongs to Finland -teattearifestivaalilla sekä lukuisissa yksityisyystilaisuuksissa.
Afrojazz Quintetin solisteina ovat olleet mm. Emilia Sisco, Charlotta Kerbs, Jimi Tenor, Meissa Niang, Ismaila Sane, Sam Huber, Kalle Salonen ja Marjo Leinonen.
Afrojazz Clubilla on esiintynyt mm. Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble, Ismaila Sané’s Saïsba, Faso Kan, Jimi Tenor, Sakari Kukko & Afro Chamber, Chico Matada Quintet, Es-Ow and The Ridial Band, The Blassics, Trio Toffa, Tiempo Habana & Martha Galarraga, Aiyekooto & Afrobeat International, Afrobeat from the Heart -musikaaliryhmä ja useita dj:tä kuten Dj Lulu, Dj Borzin ja Dj Fidelis.
Afrojazz Club toimii kohtaamispaikkana ja luo tilaa musiikille ja kokoonpanoille, joilla on juuria Afrikassa ja afrodiasporassa. Ennen konserttia järjestettävissä puheenvuoroissa kuullaan yhteiskunnan ajankohtaisista teemoista aktiivisten kansalaisten toimesta. Afrojazz Club toiminnan käynnistäjänä toimi kuvataiteilija, muusikko ja tuottaja Alvar Gullichsen, joka vastaa myös klubin ilmeestä.
Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto -tapahtuma toteutetaan pääosin Helsingin kaupungin tuella, myös Musiikin Edistämissäätiö (MES) tukee tapahtumaa. Pääyhteistyökumppanina vuonna 2026 toimii jälleen Afro Sunday.

Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto event has gathered people together since 2018 in the “Alppipuiston kesä” (free summer picnics in the Alppipuisto park in Helsinki). The executive producer is Kulttuurikameleontit ry. This year marks a special anniversary, as we come together to celebrate 10 years of Afrojazz Club!
Afrojazz Clubs have been held in Helsinki since 2016 at Korjaamo, Kumpulan kylätila, Storyville, the National Theatre’s Lavaklubi as well as at Tampere’s Klubi and Porvoo’s Cultural House Grand. The Afrojazz Club house band, Afrojazz Quintet, has performed not only at these venues but also e.g. at the World Village Festival, Bizarre in Salo, Helsinki cultural centres, and at the opening gala of the Who Belongs to Finland theatre festival at Svenska Teatern, as well as at numerous private events.
The soloists of the Afrojazz Quintet have included e.g. Emilia Sisco, Charlotta Kerbs, Jimi Tenor, Meissa Niang, Ismaila Sane, Sam Huber, Kalle Salonen and Marjo Leinonen.
At the Afrojazz club have performed e.g. Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble, Ismaila Sané’s Saïsba, Faso Kan, Jimi Tenor, Sakari Kukko & Afro Chamber, Chico Matada Quintet, Es-Ow and The Ridial Band, The Blassics, Trio Toffa, Tiempo Habana & Martha Galarraga, Aiyekooto & Afrobeat International, Afrobeat from the Heart -musical group and various djs e.g. Dj Lulu, Dj Borzin and Dj Fidelis.
Afrojazz Club serves as a meeting place and creates space for music and ensembles with roots in Africa and the afrodiaspora. Before concerts, speeches are organized on current social themes by active citizens. The founder and initiator of Afrojazz Club was visual artist, musician and producer Alvar Gullichsen, who is also responsible for the club’s visual identity.
The Afrojazz Club goes Alppipuisto event is organised mainly with the support of the City of Helsinki, and the Music Promotion Centre (MES) also supports the event. The main partner in 2026 is Afro Sunday.
