This event is all about exploring the world through food — the recipes we grew up with, the dishes we miss, the flavors that remind us of home, and the meals that tell a story.

Whether you bring something from your own country, your family background, your travels, or a culture you deeply appreciate, this picnic is a space to share, taste, listen, and connect.

At Afrodesiac, we believe food is one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to understand culture. A single dish can carry history, memory, migration, celebration, comfort, and love.

No cooking expertise needed — just bring something you’re excited to share.

What to Bring:

Please bring one dish to share that represents your country, culture, family, or a meaningful food story.

It can be homemade or store-bought. Sweet or savory. A snack, side dish, dessert, drink, or full dish.

You’re welcome to bring a small note with the name of your dish, where it’s from, and any allergy information.

Why $10?

This is a community-centered event, and the ticket price helps us keep the gathering intentional, prepared, and welcoming. It also helps cover drinks, extra food, setup materials, and hosting costs.

We’ve learned that even a small ticket helps people commit — which means a better experience for everyone who shows up.

About the Experience

This is not a formal dinner or cooking class. It’s a casual, joyful picnic-style gathering where we use food as a bridge between cultures.

You’ll have the chance to taste different dishes, meet new people, share what you brought, and learn the stories behind what others bring.

You do not have to be “from” a culture to appreciate it. Come curious, ask respectfully, and enjoy the beauty of learning through food.

Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the event. If you need to cancel between 48 hours and 5 days, we’ll offer a credit toward a future Afrodesiac event. We cannot offer refunds or credits for cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled event.
