Award winning Dance Artist & Cultural Ethnologist, Kimberly Miguel Mullen, M.A. returns to Nevada City to offer a special AfroCuban Oricha dance workshop with love drumming in celebration of joy, freedom, and unity through cultural dance and community.
Through the embodiment of the sacred AfroCuban & AfroBrazilian dances, dancers will tap into their own inner strength, resilience, joy and beauty while reinforcing gratitude and appreciation for living life to its fullest. Dancers will leave class inspired, transformed, empowered and exhilarated.
All skill and fitness levels are welcome - no experience necessary in the spirit of learning and having fun. Please bring long full skirt. A sarong, scarf will also suffice.

ABOUT KIMBERLY:
Classically trained folkloric dance artist and cultural ethnologist Kimberly Miguel Mullen contributes to a legacy of performers from the Caribbean, Cuba and Brazil. Her dance practice is rooted in ritual dance expressions from AfroCaribbean/AfroBrazilian religious systems of deities called the Orichas/Orixas. Through her online virtual dance platform and through her ongoing innovative performances, in-depth workshops, and retreats, Mullen expands the reach of African diasporic forms.
