We are very excited to announce our two-day AfricArena Nairobi Summit taking place at Shamba Events in Nairobi, Kenya from 3 - 4 September in the midst of the inaugural Africa Climate Tech Week, which will run from 1 - 4 September. We are running the Africa Climate Tech Week in partnership with AWS Startups, Silicon Overdrive and GIZ. There will be an exciting, electrifying range of different events for investors, startups, government and policymakers to attend. Stay tuned as we will share more news with you once our programme is finalized.
This is a very important week for climate focused investors and startups operating in the climate tech sector as during 2023, over a third of all funds raised by African-led, African-bred startups are being distributed to climate tech startups. This trend is continuing into 2024, as according to Africa: The Big Deal, climate tech has so far, attracted 45% of a total of $721 million raised by tech startups across the African continent, overtaking investment in Fintech and Deeptech.
