Just like Katogo, a beloved Ugandan dish that blends a variety of flavors into one delicious meal, this event brings together a vibrant fusion of East African music, dance, food, and art for an immersive cultural experience you won’t forget!
What to expect:
🎶 Traditional Ugandan folk music, dance, and storytelling by Samuel Nalangira, a world-renowned Ugandan folk musician, multi-instrumentalist, and cultural ambassador, and Aloysius Migadde, an accomplished Ugandan guitarist and folk artist blending authentic indigenous elements with contemporary sounds.
🪘 A vibrant drumming workshop for all ages to learn and participate in the rhythmic traditions of East Africa!
🎨 Live art painting by talented local Dubuque artists, capturing the energy and beauty of the event.
🍲 Authentic East African snacks and culinary delights, bringing the tastes of Uganda and the broader East African region to your palate.
