About this Event

The African Studies Center at MSU would like to expand and support interactions with Black faculty, staff, administrators and students on campus. We invite you to a 2024-25 Academic Year Welcome Event to be held on Friday, September 20 in Room 303, International Center, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.

The African Studies Center is keen to share the various ways you and your students can engage with our Center. We aim to foster networking and collaboration among Black faculty, staff, administrators and students throughout the university, as well as with our partner institutions in Africa.

Our sister units, the Alliance for African Partnership, Tanzania Partnership Program and the Institute of Ubuntu Thought and Practice will introduce their respective programs, highlighting opportunities to support your Africa-related work. In addition, The Black Faculty, Staff and Administrators Association will share information about the Association. Another goal is to help increase BESAA membership through this networking event.
