The mission of the National Golf Player Development Foundation is, “To provide unprecedented funding opportunities to programs that provide skill development and playing opportunities to young people of color and connect them to premier experiences in competitive golf.” Our vision is, “To inspire young people of color to become purpose driven players in the game of golf.”

We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to experience the values inherent in the game of golf, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. Many talented young golfers from underserved communities face significant financial obstacles that prevent them from accessing coaching, training, equipment, and competitive opportunities. With your support, we can remove these obstacles and provide these young athletes with the tools they need to succeed, both on the course and in life. Your generosity allows us to fund coaching, provide equipment, cover tournament fees, and offer mentorship programs that change lives.

Our mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of golfing pioneer and golf trailblazer Theodore “Ted” Rhodes by empowering underrepresented youth through the game of golf. We strive to provide access, resources, and opportunities that foster life skills, discipline, career readiness, and community engagement. Through education and mentorship, we aim to inspire the next generation to achieve their full potential both on and off the course.

The Brandon Johnson Scholarship will be used to support Youth of Color to pursue a career in Golf Course Architecture. Brandon is on of less that 5 African American golf course architects in America

With over 25 years of experience designing golf courses around the world — 12 of those years dedicated to leading the Arnold Palmer Design Company — Brandon is a designer with a multi-dimensional background who brings a wealth of skills, creativity and a design agility that suits any project scenario.

Brandon’s work is informed by his well-studied personal and professional journey that gives him a fresh perspective on the game and golf design. Brandon’s thoughtful and engaging design process is rooted in his core belief that golf courses are ultimately created in the field. From initial client contact, discovering inspired routings in the field, to honing details in construction, Brandon’s passion for design and commitment to an intimate, hands-on approach to his work manifests a personalized brand of architecture that is rich with soul and layered with interest that is sure to stand the test of time

The 2027 event will once again be held in conjunction with the annual PGA Show, providing attendees with access to one of the golf industry’s largest gatherings.

Community organizations can promote the EXPO through their websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and membership communications. Each participating organization receives a unique promotional code to share with supporters. Organizations will be compensated for every registration completed through its code.

The program requires no upfront investment and no financial commitment from participating community organizations.
