ABOUT AFRICA DAY
Following the first Conference of Independent African States on April 15th 1958, African Liberation Day or African Freedom Day was celebrated in Ethiopia, South Africa and Ghana. The holiday has since been replaced and is now known as Africa Day.
Africa Day is celebrated and commemorated annually on May 25th to acknowledge and highlight the socio-economic and cultural impact of Africa in a global, regional and local context.
This is the inaugural Africa Day celebrations in the South Bay Area of Northern California.
