Affirmative Prayer 101

You are invited to Affirmative Prayer 101, a six-week class designed to deepen, strengthen, and empower your prayer life.

We all pray in our own way—sometimes with a simple “Help!” or “Thank you!” And while there is no right or wrong way to pray, Affirmative Prayer offers a powerful, intentional approach to aligning with the Divine.

In this class, we will explore the contemporary book Discover Your Divinity: A Modern Guide to Affirmative Prayer by Unity ministers Linda Martella-Whitsett and Deeann Weir Morency. As one of the authors shares, it is one of the greatest gifts the New Thought movement has given the world.

Together, we’ll focus on the foundational principles and step-by-step format of Affirmative Prayer, building both understanding and confidence.

Through guided practice and reflection, you will learn to create meaningful, effective prayers rooted in the truth of who you are—whole, worthy, and connected to Spirit.

Prayer and meditation are at the heart of Unity’s teachings, and this class offers a beautiful opportunity to experience that truth more fully in your own life.

Cost: Suggested love offering of $60-$120 for the six-week class

About Your Facilitator:

Susan Bennett joined our community in 2024 and became a Prayer Chaplain in 2025. Before moving here, she served for ten years as a Licensed Prayer Practitioner at the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa.

Her training included a rigorous four-year program that deepened her spiritual consciousness and helped her to master Affirmative Prayer. It combined philosophical studies of the Science of Mind, personal transformation, and professional ethical training. Her primary work was leading the J*il Ministry Team and made hundreds of visits with people in Sonoma County’s J*il.

Susan is a retired RN, mother of two sons and grandmother of five.
