There are pieces of music that don't just fill a concert hall – they fill something in you. We live in a world that tries to grab our attention all the time. Sometimes, the only way to escape that noise is to go to a place where noise is replaced by sound: Sound that creates joy for you; sound that holds you and allows you to let go of the clatter of the outside world.
The Transylvania Choral Society's concert on April 30 imagines such a place for you. The beauty of the two pieces you’ll hear create harmonies that transcend the everyday and offer you respite in their beauty.
Come join us for the journey that Elaine Hagenberg’s “Aeterna Via” will take you on, for the soft pastels of Jesse Strickland’s “Blue Ridge,” and for the peace you’ll be able to find. We invite you to sit back and let the music wash over you.
The concert features the 66 talented area singers of TCS, along
with 20 Brevard College Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. David Gresham, accompanied by pianist Patti Black and a full, professional chamber orchestra.
They'll be performing two brand-new compositions. TCS was part of a consortium that commissioned "Aeterna Via" from Elaine Hagenberg, the composer of "Illuminare," the beautiful work performed by TCS in 2024. The audience on April 30 will be among the first people to hear it both of these new works – don't miss it!
