Interested in learning aerial rope/corde lisse, but not sure where to start? This workshop will introduce rope-specific climbs and basic momentum work. We’ll look at how physics principles can help us in the air, and get a feel for translating silks skills we already know to the rope.Prerequisites: ability to climb on silks, ability to invert on silks (from the ground is ok)
Ropes are rough and can be more uncomfortable than silks. Please wear workout clothes that fully cover your abdomen (no crop tops) and leggings or sweatpants that cover the backs of your knees. Bring a pair of socks that you don’t mind getting a little worn.
About Kat Neufeld:
15 years ago, Kat began taking aerial silks classes as an escape from her Wall Street career. A few years later, girl met rope and what began as a casual hobby became an obsessive passion. Kat now splits time between NY and CA, and is thrilled to work as a rigging manager at Aerial Arts NYC, and to have the privilege of training and working at The Aerial Studio in Ventura. As a forty-something aerialist who struggled for years to get her first invert and first performed professionally at age 42, Kat brings understanding and empathy to students who are starting their aerial journeys as adults.
