About this Event
This course is designed to prepare drivers for the role of responding with and operating with an aerial device. Training will be conducted in the proper placement and operation of aerial devices. Topics covered will be the characteristics and operating features of rear-mount, tractor-drawn aerials, platforms, and quint apparatus. Special emphasis will be made on truck company placement for various types of occupancies, rescue and life safety strategies, and tactical work of quint apparatus. Finally, strategies and tactics will be discussed in the operation of and proper position of aerial ladders and tower ladders and how to successfully deploy both at the scene of a fire and technical rescues. This course consists of 10 hours of classroom and 6 hours of hands-on training. At the end of this class, you will receive a certificate of completion.
