Integrating elements of melodic death metal, classical symphonies and Slavic traditional music, the southern French band Aephanemer have developed a sound that could likely influence a whole new generation of metal. After bursting onto the scene in 2014 with their debut EP Know Thyself, followed by their first and critically acclaimed full-length Memento Mori in 2016, the four-piece quickly began growing a loyal fanbase – ultimately laying the foundations of the symphonic melodic death metal genre.
Due in part to their deft musicality, impressive live performances (including at festivals like Wacken Open Air) and fresh, modern sound, the band quickly gained the attention of leading rock and metal label Napalm Records, who re-released Aephanemer’s sophomore album, Prokopton, in October 2019.
With the release of their new album ‚A Dream of Wilderness‘, mixed by the legendary Dan Swanö and mastered by Mika Jussila from the prestigious Finnvox Studios, Aephanemer intends to establish itself as one of the leaders of the symphonic melodic death metal genre.
VALHALORE :
Founded in 2013 by guitarist Anthony Willis and vocalist Lachlan Neate, Valhalore has spent the last decade forging a sound as epic as the themes they explore – death, love, space, and time. Rooted in folklore and driven by a relentless creative fire, the band has grown from a rising underground force into a commanding presence. From their acclaimed debut album Voyage Into Eternity, to performing alongside genre titans such as Wind Rose, Blind Guardian, Arch Enemy, Alestorm, HammerFall, and Kamelot, Valhalore continues to expand the horizons of symphonic folk metal. But their saga is far from over. With Beyond the Stars propelling them into a global spotlight, Valhalore stands poised to take their place among the legends. DARK OATH :
Dark Oath is an epic symphonic death metal band from Portugal, known for its powerful and emotionally charged music. With a passion for storytelling and a deep connection to mythology and folklore, Dark Oath’s music takes listeners on epic journeys through the realms of human history. In their debut album, „When Fire Engulfs the Earth,“ Dark Oath delved into Norse mythology, particularly the cataclysmic event of Ragnarök. Their sophomore album, „Ages of Man“, turns their attention to Greek mythology and invites listeners to journey through time and experience the highs and lows of human existence, exploring the rise and fall of humanity through the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Heroic, and Iron ages, as told by ancient greek poet Hesiod.
WALDGEFLÜSTER :
Waldgeflüster ist eine 2005 von Jan „Winterherz“ van Berlekom als Soloprojekt gegründete Metal-Band aus Bayern, die seit 2009 bei Black Blood Records, dem Sublabel von Einheit Produktionen, unter Vertrag steht. Seit ihrem Auftritt auf dem Summer Breeze 2014 fungiert Waldgeflüster als komplette Band.
