Adzuki Pop Up (mochi/daifuku)

Indulge in the flavor of Adzuki and come and join us for our Adzuki pop up store next Saturday, (17.July, 13:00-18:00) where we will be introducing handmade Daifuku made from mochi with adzuki bean paste and fresh summer fruits. To accompany the flavours of the Daifuku, we will be offering our iced Adzuki Matcha Latte for a special combo price on Saturday.
East Asian soy culture revolves not only around soybeans but incorporates all kinds of beans, such as Adzuki beans, which are a popular component of sweet specialties all over East Asia. There, they are not only valued for their taste and texture but also for their health benefits, as they have antioxidant properties and are high in protein and fiber.
Daifuku is a good example of how adzuki beans are enjoyed. It is a Japanese confection made of mochi (a sweet steamed rice dumpling made from glutinous rice) filled with bean paste. Daifuku are popular all over East Asia, with many countries having their own variation of it. While traditionally it is only made with adzuki bean paste and with kinako (soybean flour), fruit Daifuku are more modern creations.
