About this Event
The Talk
In this talk, Geraint Franklin considers six ‘decisive moments’ where structural engineers and other designers came together to develop new approaches to construction techniques and materials. He looks at innovation in concrete shells, the revival of structural timber, tensile structures, space structures and post-tensioned stone.
What are the connecting themes, and what can we learn from these episodes?
