Dear Members,Join us to explore and wild camp a private farm in the Tankwa Karoo. One of our members has graciously invite us to explore the farm. This will be strictly wild camping, we bring in our own water and wood. There is water on the farm, but it is not potable.
The plan is to meet up at the hotel in Matjiesfontein at lunch time and then convoy to the farm. We will wild camp at a suitable location of our finding and the next day move on to explore and find a new camp site for the night.
This is a wild camping trip in remote areas, and the convoy will be limited to 10 vehicles.
All vehicles should be properly equipped for self-sufficient camping, and must have at least the following gear:
- Camping gear: tent, table, chairs, stove, camping light, head torch, torch batteries, Lilo, stretcher, sleeping bag, pillow, cutlery and crockery, braai grid and triangle, blitz/firestarters, toilet spade, etc.
- Clothing: bring a rain jacket as well as warm clothes for the evenings, toiletries, hats, buffs, sunglasses, etc.
- Vehicle: Jerry cans, VHF radio, spares, tools, recovery kit, tyre gauge, etc.

- Unfortunately No trailers will be allowed
- We allows recommend 1 or 2 Jerry cans of fuel
- You must be completely self-sufficient for fuel, water, food, and medical supplies
- At least 40L of water (excluding shower water)
- You must ensure that your vehicle has the fuel range for this trip
- You must be equipped to deal with mechanical issues (spares, toolkit, etc.)
- You must carry at least 1 bag of wood per night
- Each vehicle will have a turn at starting the evening's fire, which will be drawn at the beginning of the trip
- All persons must carry their ID
- All vehicles must have a VHF radio
- All vehicles must have a first-aid kit
