About this Event
Jeffrey S. Gallup, MA, LPC-S, NCC, CFMHE, owner of Mansfield Counseling, will present an advanced clinical training focused on the comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults. Drawing on his extensive experience in psychological testing, forensic mental health evaluation, and private-practice assessment services, Mr. Gallup will guide clinicians through a structured, defensible, and clinically sound approach to adult autism evaluations.
This training is designed for licensed professionals and supervised clinicians seeking practical competence in adult diagnostic assessment, and 6 hours of continuing education units (CEUs). Participants will learn how to conceptualize adult autism presentations across varying levels of support needs, including high-masking individuals, late-identified clients, and those with co-occurring conditions such as ADHD, trauma histories, mood disorders, and personality features. Emphasis will be placed on differential diagnosis, rule-out considerations, and avoiding common diagnostic errors in adult populations.
Attendees will receive instruction on test selection, administration, and integration of commonly used adult assessment instruments, including structured diagnostic interviews, rating scales, performance-based measures, and collateral data review. The workshop will focus on synthesizing clinical interview data, developmental history, psychometric findings, and behavioral observations into a cohesive diagnostic formulation. Participants will also learn how to write clear, ethically defensible evaluation reports that meet clinical, insurance, and legal scrutiny when necessary.
Jeff’s teaching style integrates clinical rigor with practical application. He emphasizes documentation standards, interpretive nuance, and real-world workflow considerations for private practitioners and group practices expanding into adult testing services. Participants will leave with greater confidence in determining when autism is present, when it is not, and how to articulate their conclusions with clarity and professional authority.
This training is ideal for clinicians who want to responsibly expand their assessment services, improve diagnostic accuracy, and provide meaningful clarity to adult clients seeking answers about long-standing neurodevelopmental concerns.
