Prerequisite: Introductory level knowledge of woodburning

Learn the basics of woodburning in this beginner workshop designed to help you get comfortable with the tools and techniques of pyrography. Each participant will receive a small wooden piece with a simple design already sketched out. We’ll cover safety, types of wood, transferring designs, heat settings, and how to avoid common mistakes. You will practice burning clean lines and basic shading while receiving step-by-step guidance. All materials are provided, and you will leave with a finished piece and a set of resources to help you continue exploring pyrography on your own.

Seats are limited and booked on a first-come, first-reserve basis. Besides an auto-generated email receipt, you will receive a confirmation email from the Director of Education and Artist Services, Pamela Weichmann. CANCELATION POLICY: Refunds are eligible up to one week before the beginning of the workshop. After this time, workshop fees are non-refundable. WheatonArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to minimum enrollment. If cancellation occurs, WheatonArts will refund all workshop fees. A $25 fee is charged to those who do not show up for their appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment; otherwise, it will be considered a no-show, except in the case of illness. Appointments can be rescheduled by phone or email.
