Advanced Performance Class January 2025

The Advanced Performance Class offers advanced level Piano students (Levels RCM 9 and above) the opportunity to perform for some of Canada’s top adjudicators.

How to participate in APC:

1. Register for a Student Video Audition on Eventbrite and submit an online audition with a YouTube link to [email protected]
2. Students MUST state they are auditioning for Advanced Performance Class, and introduce their name, title of piece, composer, and date of filming in their audition video.
3. Audition must be submitted before the deadline of January 4 at 8 pm.
4. Selected students will receive an invitation within one week of the concert date, inviting them to perform live.
5. Marks are collected throughout the year. Students with the top 10 marks will be invited to perform at a public concert and will receive trophies, awards, scholarship money, and the chance to be presented as a solo artist.

Important:

For the upcoming deadline of January 4th, the audition video should have been recorded no earlier than December 4th.

Students who pass the audition are invited to perform and be adjudicated by renowned concert pianists, university performance professors and artistic directors.

Performance invitations will be sent out to winning students one week prior to performance with invitations to perform in person.

UP TO 8 STUDENTS PER EVENT WILL BE INVITED TO PERFORM AT THE LIVE CONCERT AND RECEIVE LIVE ADJUDICATION.

Concert begins at 6 pm. Students will perform back to back and will be given comments by the adjudicator at the end of the concert.

Marks are given for each performance and at the end of the year, scholarship money, trophies and solo performance opportunities are awarded to the students with the top marks throughout the year!

Location: In-person at Steinway Piano Gallery Ottawa - 1481 Innes Road

Format: Audition is by video application which must be uploaded to YouTube with a link.
