About this Event
Overlockers are amazing, they allow us to achieve a professional finish to any sewing project but, they can do so much more than neaten an edge. They are particularly useful when working with stretch and jersey fabrics. Join me on my specialist STRETCH & THE OVERLOCKER MASTERCLASS and I will take you through a range of practical experiments to show you how to get the best from your overlocker.
Who is this class for:
This workshop is you if you would like to extend your overlocking skills and learn some new techniques which will help build your confidence and enable you to tackle some new sewing challenges. YOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO THREAD YOUR OVERLOCKER & HAVE ABASIC WORKING KNOWLEDGE
What you will learn:
This workshop focuses adjustment and techniques which can be used when working with stretch and jersey fabrics. During the workshop we will work with the following:
- understanding and adjusting the differential feed
- using specialist decorative threads
- flat seaming
- cover stitch hems
- rolled hems
- lettuce leaf edges
Materials & Equipment
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN OVERLOCKER, THREADS AND MANUAL. I will supply you with a range of fabrics to work with on the day.
A worksheet and all resources will be provided during the workshop but you are more than welcome to bring a note pad with you if you prefer.
