About this Event
In this class, we’ll look into the science behind various HVAC codes and regulations. We’ll explore the history of combustion air requirements and understand why they matter. We’ll also discuss the composition of a flame and whether the 1-inch clearance around a furnace flue is as critical as it seems. We’ll also tackle the debate over PVC vs. ABS exhaust flues for high-efficiency condensing appliances, and learn about the importance of condensate neutralizers.
We'll discuss common HVAC problems, including issues with condensate in both 80% and high-efficiency systems and combustion air calculations. You’ll also gain insight into furnace categories, efficiencies, and venting.
Other topics include understanding Delta T measurements, common client questions about SEER ratings, 90% vs. 80% efficiency, and the comparison between heat pumps and gas furnaces.
You'll also receive 8 hours of InterNACHI® continuing education credit for attending this class!
