About this Event

Feel free to have your patients attend the Amputee Walking School from 4:45-7pm!

Participants will learn how to effectively complete and teach the following:

  • Exercises and stretches tailored for individuals of all ages with lower limb amputations, across various levels of amputation.
  • Treatment strategies designed to improve function and facilitate a return to an active lifestyle.
  • Advanced exercise techniques and running drills for individuals with both above- and below-knee amputations.
  • Maximizing performance with orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Understanding the dynamics of artificial prosthetics and how they function.
  • How to engage muscles for proper control of prosthetic limbs.
  • Teaching individuals with amputations essential movement skills, including running, lateral movements, bending, jumping, climbing stairs, and walking with confidence.
