About this Event
Advanced CVICU Care Course

DESCRIPTION and OBJECTIVES
  • In this four-hour course, intermediate level staff nurses advancing to the next level of expertise in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, will be confident in their critical thinking skills, their knowledge of advanced ICU care and respect the balance that is very delicate in this patient population.
  • The students taking this course will be able to confidently understand and explain complex congenital heart defects, learn to be actively a part of the interdisciplinary team of care and successfully describe necessary care for critically ill patients returning from the operating room and in emergency events.


CONTINUING EDUCATION

This continuing education (CE) course is offered through Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford by the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider Number 9713.

Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry is accredited as provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

  • Number of BRN Contact Hours: 3.5 hours
  • Number of ANCC Contact Hours: 3.5 hours


REGISTRATION and FEES
  • Exclusively offered to Stanford Medicine Children's Health RNs: CVICU, CCF, PICU, and NICU. For employment verification, please register using your stanfordchildrens.org work email and SCH employee ID number.
  • Stanford Medicine Children's Health RNs = FREE with RN continuing education (CE) credits


CHANGES ON REGISTRATION
  • View and manage your registration by logging in to .
  • Cancellation: Submit your request at least 3 business days before the class starts.
  • Transfers: Cancel the original registration and sign up for the new class/session.
  • Waitlist: Order of approval on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • CPEI Cancellation: Schedules, venues and details are subject to change and cancellation. Registered participants will be provided with as much advance notice as possible if this should occur.
