You have figured out how binoculars work. You have a good idea of where to look for the bird when you hear it. You can tell ducks from hawks from herons from finches. What’s the next step? Come to this class led by experts from Halifax River Audubon. We will take a little deeper dive into birding. We will explore the seasonal changes in bird populations in Florida, concentrating on the birds that you will see throughout the winter. After a short classroom warm-up, we will take to the park searching for birds on their winter hiatus. In the field, we discuss apps and optics. We will discuss the finer points of identification. We will learn about the importance of habitat. And we will have a good time.Previous attendance to Beginning Birding is not required.
Time: 9:00am – 11:00am
Meet at: Tomoka State Park Rec Hall, Across from the Tomoka Outpost.
