The Advanced Adobe Illustrator for Apparel Tech Design (FASH 922) course is a 5-week online course that introduces students already proficient in Adobe Illustrator to the skills and tools needed to create advanced technical sketches for the field of apparel design. You will learn how to translate your vision into a design that can be easily transferred to production. (Prereq is FASH 920 Beginner Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for Fashion Design. This can be taken concurrently or industry experience can be applied) .

Clothing designers, shoe designers, accessory designers and textile designers who are aspiring or currently working in the fashion industry

If you want to achieve academic or professional results quicker and more efficiently

Anyone who has a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or has taken FASH920 Beginner Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for fashion design

Through creative projects and exercises, you will develop accelerated skills in drawing and design by learning the advanced function of this industry-standard professional tool, Adobe Illustrator.

You will learn various advanced technical skills such as advanced technical sketching, construction details, garment proportion, Illustrator brushes, and spec sheet creation. You will learn how to easily modify and develop flat and 2-dimensional fashion drawings, patterns, storyboards, and accessory designs. The course outcome will be a portfolio of technical design sketches and tech packs. Projects will include:

• Technical drawings of various garments from cut and sew knits to denim to outerwear
• Analyze garment construction and proportion
• Create spec sheets.

She currently works for Charles River Apparel as a product manager. Chloe graduated from Lasell University in 2016 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design and Production and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Textiles at NC State Wilson College of Textiles.
