This course is designed for the experienced provider who is looking for additional EKG interpretive skills. This course will cover:
-a brief review of 12 lead physiology and basic MI patterns.
-electrolyte abnormalities
-drug overdose patterns
-atypical MI patterns
-atypical MI mimics (pericarditis, pancreatitis, etc)
-Right heart strain patterns (pulmonary embolism)
-Brugada, Wellen’s criteria and more.
This course is NOT designed for the beginner and should not be taken right after our basic course. You should have working knowledge and experience of basic 12 lead interpretation for this course. No textbook is recommended, we will be reviewing multiple actual EKGs. The ideal student is an experienced paramedic or nurse wishing to broaden their skills. It is also appropriate for clinicians that do not routinely evaluate emergent EKGs.
