Advance Care Planning Information Session
About this Event
As part of Carr Villa Memorial Park's ongoing commitment to supporting education and improving deathcare literacy within our community, join us with Palliative Care Tasmania for a free information session on Advance Care Directives (ACDs) and the importance of planning ahead.
An Advance Care Directive is a legal document that allows you to record your values, preferences and future healthcare decisions in case there comes a time when you are unable to speak for yourself. It is one of the most important ways you can prepare for the end of your life, enabling you to make informed decisions about your future healthcare while you still have the capacity to do so.
During this session, you'll learn what an Advance Care Directive is, why it is important, and how it can help ensure your healthcare wishes are understood and respected. We'll also introduce the Think, Talk, Write, Share, Review approach and explain how to create and register an Advance Care Directive in Tasmania.
Whether you're planning for yourself or supporting a loved one, this session will provide practical information, increase your understanding of advance care planning, and give you the confidence to start important conversations about future care and end-of-life wishes.
