A practical, empowering workshop for veterans and families to plan ahead, protect medical wishes, and understand VA benefits so decisions are clear when emotions are overwhelming.
End-of-life conversations are often avoided because they feel uncomfortable or difficult to start. Planning ahead isn’t about fear, it’s about clarity, dignity, and protecting the people you love.
This educational workshop helps veterans, spouses, and families make informed decisions about future medical care, advance directives, funeral and cemetery benefits, and VA survivor benefits. Using real-life scenarios and plain language, we’ll break down it systematically and help you know how to put the right plans in place before they’re needed.
You’ve spent a lifetime making thoughtful decisions for others. This workshop helps ensure your voice, values, and choices are honored, now and in the future.
Topics Covered:
- Advance Care Planning (ACP): Ensuring your health care wishes are known and honored
- Advanced Medical Directives: Living wills, health care surrogates, and DNRs - what they mean and how they work
- Veteran Funeral & Cemetery Benefits: Eligibility, documentation, and planning ahead
- VA Survivor Benefits: Understanding Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) and other survivor benefits
What You’ll Walk Away With:
- Confidence that your medical and end-of-life wishes are clearly documented
- Peace of mind knowing your family won’t be left guessing or struggling
- A clearer understanding of earned VA benefits and how to protect them
- Practical next steps you can take now, no matter your age or health status
Your experiences have shaped your values. This session helps ensure those values guide your care and protect your family when it matters most.
Who Should Attend:
Veterans, spouses, caregivers, and family members seeking clarity, confidence, and peace of mind around medical decisions and earned veteran benefits.
