Adult Workshop - Chocolate Wars

In this talk, we will look at the fascinating rivalry between some of the chocolate giants. We’ll start with the personal histories of Milton Hershey and Frank and Forrest Mars, along with their heirs. You’ll hear about how Hershey Company and Mars Company got their start and grew into the massive brands we know today. We’ll explore how these companies worked together at times but mostly competed fiercely. From using spies to clever advertising, they were always trying to outdo each other. I’ll also cover where they stand today, including the good things they do and some of the not-so-great stuff. Finally, we’ll look at the differences in how Hershey and Mars are run, giving you a peek into their unique business strategies.
