Adult Safeguarding Level 2 Training – Summary
Purpose:To equip professionals and volunteers who work directly with vulnerable adults with the knowledge and skills to identify, respond to, and prevent abuse or neglect.

What safeguarding adults means and why it's essential.
Legal duties under the Care Act 2014 and other UK legislation.
Recognising Abuse:
Types of abuse (physical, emotional, financial, neglect, etc.).
Risk factors and signs of abuse or neglect.
Who may be more vulnerable to harm.
Safeguarding Principles:
The six key principles: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership, and Accountability.
Responding to Concerns:
How to report suspected abuse.
The role of whistleblowing.
Supporting safeguarding enquiries.
Maintaining Dignity and Respect:
Promoting person-centred care.
Balancing safety with individual rights and choices.
Practical Application:
Real-life scenarios and case studies.
How to act confidently and responsibly in safeguarding situations.
