IDENTIFY - UNDERSTAND - RESPOND

Baptist Health is pleased to present this national and evidence-based training at no charge to the community.

Mental Health First Aid empowers community members to identify, understand and respond to risk factors and warning signs of mental health and addiction concerns. Participants also learn:

  • a 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or someone in crisis
  • where to turn for support - professional, peer and self-help
  • topics covered include depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addiction disorders

The course also teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.

Participants earn a three-year certification upon completion.
