Deacon Victoria and Fr. Colin kick off a discussion series in the parlor based on Congressman John Lewis’s book, Across That Bridge: A Vision for Change and the Future of America, in which Lewis “draws from his experience as a prominent leader of the Civil Rights Movement, to offer timeless wisdom, poignant recollections, and powerful principles for anyone interested in challenging injustices and inspiring real change toward a freer, more peaceful society.” The book is available in paperback on Amazon for $8.31. It is also available in a Kindle edition. You don’t have to read the book to join us, though, so please do come for what promises to be an enriching time together. In addition to 9/25, we’ll meet on 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, and 11/20.We’ll have more exciting opportunities in the first half of 2023, including a series of classes taught by a board member from the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing and a trip to Montgomery, AL to visit the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum.
