Description:
In this workshop we will learn about Poly-vagal theory, originated by neuroscientist Steven Progres, and gaining much interest in therapeutic and educational realms. We will explore key nervous system “states” using art, movement, story and conversation. This will sharpen your self-awareness around why and when you may feel calm/ connected, activated/ anxious/ angry, or flat/ shutdown. We will gently explore ways we can become more “active operators” of our own nervous systems and also become better equipped to support others to transition easefully between states.
This workshop is useful for anyone interested in becoming more mindful of our moods and responses, as very useful for both teachers and parents in understanding and supporting their children.
4:00-5:30 Wednesday 5 November in Luglug (Milkwood's Library).
