Are you curious to know more about colour pencil? Not sure where to start, how they work, or what brands to buy. It can all be quite daunting. Colour Pencil is such a satisfying medium once you understand how to use it correctly.

As a full time artist using this medium, I have done the research, put in the time and practiced using colour pencils for many many years, and now look forward to sharing my knowledge with you. My understanding of this medium has provided me with a career specialising in this medium, producing hundreds of commissioned portraits.

In this 3 hour small personal group workshop,I will be sharing the techniques and process I use to create my hyperealistic pet portraits , and how I create stunning soft tones by layering and building up colours which is how I get gorgeous results in my animal drawings.

This smaller group is perfect for allowing me to really help each and every one of you in the session, answering your questions, and focus on where youre wanting some extra assistance with your artwork.

Step by step I will also be going through some of the various pencils available on the market ,mainly the ones I use in my studio and how to better understand them, what papers I use and how they can effect your finished result, and the processes and tips I use with pencils to achieve a rich and vibrant drawing.

We will work together on the various ways to use the pencil in a drawing of your choice. In class we will work on an image that your bring in. It might be your dog or cat, or a wildlife bird, your choice. I will show you how to transfer the image, where to start and help you step by step on how to handle your drawing so you can build your confidence with this medium in this and other projects you will want to do.

I am confident that you will finish this workshop with a better understanding of this medium and how to use it correctly, and also some methods you can confidently take away and use in any colour pencil artwork in the future, and of course have a bit of fun!

I have worked with colour pencils for over 30 years, and am a proffesional portrait artist specialising in this hyper-realistic style. Please join me for a fun 3 hour session, in a small group ( 8 max ) and take your love of pencils to the next stage.
