This course will provide a 2 year certification in adult, child, and infant CPR/AED. This is an in-person course where you will perform the skills on training aids and experience the effort and techniques required for successful performance of CPR and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). We believe in providing quality in-person training that will serve you well should you come across a breathing or cardiac emergency and need to fall back on this knowledge and training when seconds count, therefore we do not offer this training in an online format. Persons who suffer cardiac arrest have the best chance of survival when a bystander takes immediate actions with CPR and early defibrillation within 5 minutes of their arrest. With this knowledge you will be the provider of that "best chance"!
In this course, you will learn:
- How to recognize cardiac arrest
- Where to find and how to check for a pulse
- Steps to provide effective chest compressions
- How to open airway and provide rescue breaths
- Where to find and how to use an AED
- Similarities and differences between adult, child, and infants
- How to prepare for EMS arrival
