Join Museum Educator Myron Solomon, Jr., for a four-week journey into painting and crafts inspired by "Louisiana Contemporary," presented by The Helis Foundation.
During the session, students will create original work influenced by the themes and techniques explored in the exhibition. Through sketching, layering shapes and adding painted details, participants will bring their ideas to life, ending in a finished relief portrait. By choosing fabrics, cutting patterns and arranging layered designs, participants will bring their ideas to life, ending in a finished textile collage.
Supplies provided, but personal collage and painting materials are encouraged.
