Adult Abstract Art Classes
About this Event
Benefit of local professional artist, Katharine Ligon, who is now offering a unique mentorship program focused on understanding and creating abstract art.
Abstract art is a form of modern art that does not intentionally represent images of our everyday world. Many pieces have no direct reference to recognizable objects, people, or scenes. Abstract artists use colors, shapes, and gestural marks to express feelings and ideas. Abstract art portrays what an artist feels and thinks rather than what they see. There are no concrete storylines in abstract art, as it invites the viewer to feel and interpret the art based on their own unique experiences.
During four group painting sessions, adult participants will hone mindfulness skills and learn essential techniques for creating abstract paintings, such as texture, color saturation, composition, developing a harmonious color palette, and using various artist tools.
$350/Participant: Four painting sessions at two hours each
