About this Event

Starting November 2nd join us in reading or re-reading in community Adrienne Maree Brown's book Pleasure Activism. This four week course will allow us to discuss the politics of healing and happiness in a way that explodes the dour myth that changing the world is just another form of work. Drawing on the black feminist tradition, Brown challenges us to rethink the ground rules of activism.

Come write in response to the readings, creatively or otherwise, and engage in vibrant conversation with others around Brown's (and other feminist thinkers') brilliant works and words.

Please bring a notebook, journal, or laptop to be able to write during class!

What we will be reading:

11/2 Class One: Love as Political Resistance & It’s Bloody Fantastic

11/9 Class Two: It's Time to Reclaim Your Skin & Liberating Your Fantasies

11/16 Class Three: Feeling From Within & Beyond Trans Desire

11/30 Class Four: Liberated Relationships & On NonManogomy
