Anchorage is one of the most diverse cities in the United States, and with downtown being the city's epicenter of arts and culture, it comes as no surprise that the local jazz scene is thriving and ever-growing. We are excited to once again partner with the Alaska Jazz Workshop to bring the world of jazz right downtown to 4th Ave. Come and experience Anchorage's diverse and electrifying jazz scene with like-minded attendees in a small and intimate setting at the Peratrovich Park stage!
June 1 - Summer Jazz in the Park Kickoff Concert
1 - 2 p.m.: The Work Shoes - funk, R&B, and jazz standards
2 - 4 p.m.: Melissa Fischer (Jazz Mom) Quintet - stellar vocal jazz and blues
4 - 6 p.m.: AJW Adult Advanced Ensemble - a fun mix of Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, funk, blues, jazz standards, and original songs
June 8 - JD Latin Jazz Quintet - original Alaska Latin jazz by John Damberg & Mark Manners
June 15 - Power Play - contemporary jazz fusion and funk with deep grooves
June 29 - Blue Dixie Combo - New Orleans-style jazz to make you dance!
July 6 - JD Latin Jazz Quintet - original Alaska Latin jazz by John Damberg and Mark Manners
July 13 - Spenard Jazz Messengers - featuring original music from the AK Real Book
July 20 - Phil Knowlton Band - hard bop-, cool-, and fusion-influenced original modern jazz
July 27 - Whereyat? - Dave Nathanson's New Orleans-style blues, jazz, and funk quintet
Aug. 3 - Choice Bit of Calico - postmodern jukebox with a twist of Andrews Sisters & Pink
Aug. 10 - AJW Jazz Camp Faculty Sextet & Advanced Student Jazz Ensemble - celebrating the creative culmination of the 35th AJW Jazz Camp at UAA
Aug. 17 - A-Town Sharps - a classic jazz combo featuring vocalist Sarah Burtner, serving up a playful mix of blues, bossanova, rock, French pop, Greek & gypsy jazz
