Admin announces that Ringnecks are invasive species and cannot be kept without a permit. Members are asked to remove any posts related to adopting/fostering found Ringnecks and to contact the admin ASAP if a Ringneck is found in KZN. The admin also mentions that a report must be submitted to AIS and that the information is contained in the files section of the SA Birds Lost, Found, Rescue & Rehabilitation Network group.
Confirmed once again of Friday past, and from the highest authority in NEMBA directly during a conference call. I urge every person in possession of a Ringneck to make the necessary permit application and please take into the the additional documents required.
