Aditi dance collectives KATHAK LAVANI JUGALBANDI

Lavani' and 'Kathak' are two sister acts, developed together during the time of the Peshwas rule in Maharashtra, they go hand in hand especially while presenting finer details of 'Adakari', 'Taal', 'Laikari' and showmanship of movements. The jugalbandi traces the similarities and the differences of both these dance forms simultaneously. This Kathak Lavani project celebrates the harmony of values, thoughts, cultures and a kinship amongst artists who believe in coming together and growing together. Kathak and Lavani, two distinctly separate art forms, yet similar in so many ways! It has been a lovely artistic journey for all the artists in the team exploring commonalities and possibilities of merging ideas bringing the two forms closer.
