In this one-day workshop, you’ll create a large pack basket Inspired by the traditional pack baskets of the Adirondacks. This sturdy 20–22-inch basket is made to be carried and used. Its generous size is perfect for hauling gear, gathering garden produce, carrying kindling, or accompanying you on outdoor adventures. Weave a handsome, hardworking pack that combines timeless craftsmanship with everyday usefulness.
Mid to advanced level, some weaving experience will be helpful.
About your instructor: Lori Kangas-Olson is a fiber artist, teacher, and quiet disruptor based in northern Minnesota. She is 1/2 of the family duo of the cottage industry, Suku Mokki. Her work lives at the intersection of usefulness and meaning—creating baskets, textiles, and objects meant to be carried, worn, and lived with.
She believes making is a form of remembering - how to work with your hands, how to move at a human pace, how to create something that lasts.
