Join the Adelphi Orchestra for a special concert celebrating the 150th birthday of Dmitri Shostakovich! Under the direction of conductor Kyunghun Kim the afternoon begins with the world premiere of Between the Suns composed by Ramapo Professor Gilad Cohen. This orchestration of his award-winning Ten Variations sets the stage for a mesmerizing program. Next Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Clarinet No. 2 in E-flat major Op. 74 will be performed by clarinetist Kingsley Hsieh. The concert concludes with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1 in F minor Op. 10—a groundbreaking early work by the composer.
