Join us on April 24th, 2025, for an in-depth discussion on heirs’ property challenges and solutions in Detroit. This convening will feature insights from the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC), offering policy findings, legal strategies, and best practices to mitigate the issue.

Heirs’ property complications can hinder families from retaining homeownership, accessing financial resources, and building generational wealth. This conventing will bring together national experts, local leaders, and community advocates to explore innovative policy solutions and legal interventions that can help protect homeownership and strengthen Detroit’s housing stability.

This event is part of a collaborative effort led by LISC Detroit, the Federal Home Loan Bank, the City of Detroit, Detroit Future City, and the Gilbert Family Foundation. Together, we are working to develop policies, legal resources, and financial support to mitigate heirs’ properties, strengthen housing stability, and expand equitable homeownership opportunities in Detroit.

Please be sure to select “print ticket” instead of providing your credit card to ensure that your parking can be validated. There is also typically plenty of street parking on Park Ave located behind the building.
