Adapted Exercise Class specifically for people living with Arthritis and other related conditions facilitated by Siel Bleu
About this Event

This 8 week adapted exercise programme will be delivered by a trained facilitator from Siel Bleu.

This programme will run for 8 weeks, 1 session per week for 1 hour and will take place in person. The 8 week programme costs €40 (excluding booking fees) - which works out at only €5 per class each week.

This specifically adapted exercise programme will help increase flexibility, strength, balance and mobility. It will also aim to reduce pain and stiffness and improve muscle strength and functional ability.

Exercise — including range-of-motion and stretching exercises, strengthening exercises, balance and coordination activities, and endurance routines.

Regular exercise is proven to be one of the most effective treatments for arthritis. It reduces pain, keeps joints moving, restores flexibility and strength and protects joints against further damage. However, only 30% of people with arthritis in Ireland get enough exercise, as overcoming fears about exercise can be very difficult – especially when in pain.

To attend these classes, participants will have to be independently mobile.

Participants are not advised to attend these classes if they have the following:

-Poor balance

-Unable to follow commands clearly

-People with active inflammation
