This highly anticipated yearly festival will be held one day only, on September 14th. This celebration will include Pre-festival activities such as the Adams Morgan Day Deep History Tour, meditative Tai-Chi, foundational yoga poses, and Go-Go a fitness class, along with entertainment, a visit by DC’s own Washington Spirit, dance acts, face-painter, the return of the Reggae stage, as well as children’s activities. Earl Carter, renowned Guitarist will wow the crowd with his selections. The Dance Plaza will end the evening with the biggest Regg’Go dance party with Ras Lidj and Deep Band as the crowd listens and dances to reggae music linked with DC’s signature music, Go-Go. Meditative Tai-Chi with Foundational Yoga Poses with Jayanti

Mindful Movement. This session will combine the meditative movements of tai-chi with foundational yoga poses as we connect the movements with breath. We will conclude with a short meditation. This class is for all levels. We encourage a yoga mat but you will still be able to participate without one. Come learn about the many benefits of these ancient movement arts such as improved strength, balance and nervous system renewal. Try it out!

Join us for a fascinating journey through the rich history of Adams Morgan Day Deep History Tourin this iconic neighborhood. Stay afterwards to enjoy the Adams Morgan Day festivities. The tour will focus not so much on the rich and famous, hot real estate deals, or the best dive bars, but instead on the history of land struggles, escapes from slavery, and fights for freedom, that carry over to Adams Morgan as a temporary home for revolutions from Central America and the Horn of Africa. Learn about colonial conquest, early indigenous settlements, slavery, and patterns of institutionalized racism and segregation, with continuous fight-backs, escapes, and learning.

Take a walk along “Artisan Stroll” where local craftspeople and retail booths will line the upper level of Marie Reed School Plaza located on 18th Street at the intersection of Wyoming Street and Jubilee Plaza Music Stage, located at 1800 Columbia Road. The very best will be showcased, offering international specialty items, arts and crafts, jewelry, clothes, and handmade goods.

Back by popular demand, the return on the Reggae stage is where you get a chance to see live performances by some of the best Reggae bands that the industry has to offer. Sit back and relax while these bands will have you rocking and swaying to the Reggae beat. Adams Morgan’s own, The Heights Band will also be performing. Zedicus Reggae Band will close the stage

American University (AU) Humanities Truck
Our ever popular arts, culture and history segment of the festival combines the local diversity and richness of the neighborhood’s roots. We will delve into the depths of the Adams Morgan history with our AU Humanities Truck. For several years the AU Humanities Truck has been on the road collecting the diverse experience and perspectives of the community.
Artisan Stroll

Dance Plaza Stage
The interactive Dance Plaza, hosted by Cheryl “Cee-Cee” Hardy, Festival Director, is where you will go on an international journey of dance, fashion, culture and music with an explosive lineup of dance groups that will perform and teach basic dance moves, allowing the audience to join along. Earl Carter, the multi-instrumentalist and renowned guitarist, will wow the crowd with a melody of tunes. The stage will close with a Regg’Go party with Ras Lidj and Deep Band, linking Reggae with DC’s signature music Go-Go.
Gymboree-Tennis Court
Continuing with our line-up and age-appropriate activities for the children, Gymboree will curate unique programming and interactive activities for the family to include parachute time, bubbles, and tactile play, creating a memorable experience for all! Music will be incorporated along with tactile play, adding a different flair to children’s games.
Kid’s Zone-Marie Reed Field
The Volo City Kids Zone is both fun and educational. Full of games and educational activities, it boasts a soccer and flag football clinic, as well as on-site workshops. The Volo City Kids Zone will be located at Marie Reed School, Basketball Court.
Washington Spirit
We are pleased to have DC’s own Washington Spirit. They will be handing out giveaways such as branded popsockets, koozies, and stickers. Please join them and experience a virtual reality session.
