On Monday, April 13, at Eastside Bowl, the candidate will host an evening of live music, special guests, and World Premiere of “A Basic Human Right: Australian Healthcare Explained."
NASHVILLE, TN - Adam “Ditch” Kurtz, Nashville-based pedal steel guitarist and now Gubernatorial Candidate, is holding a Candidate Meet and Greet at Eastside Bowl’s The ’58 on Monday, April 13, 2026. The event aims to bring together the politically active as well as those who just want to see big change in local and state government.
There will be music, guitar solos, opportunity to connect with the candidate, and the World Premiere of the highly anticipated documentary that Ditch filmed while on tour in Australia in January 2026.
The film, “A Basic Human Right: Australian Healthcare Explained,” is a 15-min collection of interviews with Australians Ditch met along the way, and provides a lighthearted but informative exploration of Australia’s Medicare for All system. Through interviews, often at venues before and after his gigs, Ditch pokes holes in the familiar arguments we hear in the U.S. warning us of the perils of Healthcare for all.
“Healthcare should not be a partisan issue. It’s time to come together, all of us, to demand we catch up to the rest of the developed world,” Ditch says. “This movie combines humor with real perspectives from those who get to live in a Medicare for All system. You’ll come away inspired to push harder for this Basic Human Right.”
The event will feature Ditch’s signature Rock n Roll campaign approach, the screening, and an hour of additional music, featuring many special guest performers including Nicki Bluhm, Kristina Murray, Miss Tess, Sophie Gault and others.
“Many people think politics is boring, or worse,” says Ditch. “I am changing that. I say make politics exciting, engaging and, dare I say, fun! Music has always been a way to bring people together and effect change, so I am merging music with politics. Tennessee is an extremely musical state, after all.”
